As I keep exploring form and what it means to me, I am meditating on a setlist:

A setlist creates a mood. A setlist tells a story with maybe a musician narrativizing in between it, and maybe not. A setlist is a way of presenting several songs that sing their own song, that may be old and may be new and that may be skipped or added on particular nights; depending on the city.

"Sets" are also how surfers refer to a series of waves. (I've been watching a lot of surfing docs as inspiration). Surfers wait for the right set before they ride. Musicians may take years to build the right set before they tour. Sets may also be how both musicians and surfers work shit out.

They dialogue with themselves about a set, and they dialogue with watchers, and listeners, and the songs and the water, too: rearranging and arranging their approach to the conversation as things grow and change.

"Lists" may have an order that is intuitive. They may have an order that is mechanical. Lists may be decided based on what is most efficient and they may be totally inefficient ways to capture everything that is someone's mind.

"Setlist" is only one word if it's referring to a thing musicians do. Otherwise, it's two words.

I am interested in what and how to catalogue and archive while I'm creating a larger work, with Music as the widest way I move.

And since I also pay attention to the moon, I decided that a Full Moon Setlist was a cool mechanism to capture what I've created recently and make it into One thing that is also not one thing, in the way that a list is, a set is, a setlist is.

I hope to grow more setlists.
